Chuck brought this 1976 Gran Torino to the Carlisle All-Ford Nationals in June of 2008 and we took the opportunity to shoot some new photos of the car which was sporting a brand new paint job done by Chuck himself. This is one of two S&H Torinos Chuck and his sons C.J. and Shane own.
Chuck is one of several guys from the Jersey/Philly area who frequent the All-Ford Nationals, sometimes bringing Shane and C.J. along to join the fun. He's a great guy, and has a great car to match. In 2008, the car was proudly displayed under the S&H Torino Owners' tent, a great representation of the group as a whole. 12 S&H Torinos were there.
If you look very closely at the photos, you'll see a clutch next to the brake, and a 4 speed shifter on the floor. This is Chuck's custom work, as Gran Torinos only came with 3 speed automatics in 1976. There's a Monster 460 engine on the other end of the gas pedal, so don't challenge this car at the stop light - you'll just go home cryin' to your mamma if you do.
